Scott Bassett

Scott Bassett is one of the leading family law appellate attorneys in Michigan and one of the most knowledgeable attorneys on matters of technology and applications for law firms. Scott has more than 20 years of experience writing and arguing appeals in the Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court. He is a former Adjunct Professor in Family Law at Wayne State University and Clinical Faculty Member at University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, having served as Chairperson of the Family Law Section and Council Member of the Appellate Practice Section. Scott is a Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Scott now resides in Bradenton, Florida, with his wife and children, just a few miles from his parents. He works as a legal technologist for InTouch Business Consultants based in Seminole, Florida.
He continues to gig with band, the Bare Assets Jazz quartet www.lawyersplayjazz.com whenever he returns to Michigan. His involvement on the board of directors of the charter school attended by his children, along with dirt bike outings with his son, and the regular 7 p.m. wild dolphin shows at his dock, highlight his post-relocation life.
