Michigan’s Child Support Amnesty Program will run from October 1, 2005, through December 31, 2005 and seeks to collect past-due support by stopping criminal or civil child support enforcement penalties during the program (excerpt):
* To be eligible for the program the payer must, between October 1, 2005, and December 31, 2005:
– Pay all of his/her past-due support and send or bring the payment with the completed Child Support Amnesty Request Form to the friend of the court; or
– Pay half of his/her past-due support and send or bring the payment with the completed Child Support Amnesty Request Form to the friend of the court. The Child Support Amnesty Program requires the payer to pay his/her remaining balance by December 31, 2005.

* Payers are not eligible to participate in the Amnesty Program if:
– Felony prosecution for failure to pay child support has been started and the felony matter has not been resolved; or
– The payer is arrested on a bench warrant for failure to pay child support between October 1, 2005, and December 31, 2005.
