The State Department lists the foreign entry requirements for specific countries. Compliance with these requirements is especially important for a parent traveling with a child but not with the child’s other parent. You should always double check these requirements with the airline and err on the side of having too much authorization than too little. At a minimum, you should have a letter of permission from the other parent, the child’s birth certificate and any custody/guardianship papers.
