In the May 7, 2004 ABA Journal e-Report Richard Acello writes (excerpt):
So, does a federal district courts ruling last week mean the end for laffaire Gramm-Leach-Bliley? Possibly, but so far the Federal Trade Commission isnt talking.

Still, administrative silence hasnt discouraged some celebration from the two bar associations that sued to protect lawyers from regulations many saw as duplicative, inappropriate and expensive.

On April 30, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton of Washington, D.C., issued an order for summary judgment in favor of the ABA and the New York State Bar Association, both of which opposed FTC attempts to apply the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act to lawyers.
